Our Digipak |

A Screenshot from our video |
This is the digipack related to our 96 F*ckries music video. As you can see the colour scheme is black and white with a few exceptions for the social media outlets and the Ralph Lauren logo on the jacket. The reason that the colour scheme is mostly black and white is because, as you can see, our video is also dominated by black and white. The transitions in our video are a blur up and down, I have payed homage to that feature using the blur 'smudge' tool in photoshop for the inside cover which combines with the disc compartment. All of the social media on the back of the cover is the original artists social media as I felt that it looks more realistic than if i included my own social media outlets. The digital code on the back is for a free download for the music video of the main single. This is a better solution than my original idea of leaving a memory card in some of the cases with the original recording on them. This is similar to what the Foo Fighters did with their album, Wasting Light. The font on our digipak is very hard hitting in my opinion and I think the letters look like the bottom tread of a hard toe'd boot are physically hard and compliment the underlaying tone of the video which is mentally hard.
Colour:
The colour of the video is black for the most part, the reason it is black is because it is seen as a powerful colour. The lyrics of the song are threatening and the colour of the video represents that. Black colour are also associated with crime (black balaclava, black car, black gun) and again conforms to the conventions of the genre. Black usually has a negative connotation associated with death (the black death).
Wording:
The wording on our digipak is fairly normal, this includes the names of b-sides on the single as well as the single itself. The artist name (JME) and the song title (96 F*ckries) are where you would expect on the front cover which again has minimal wording.
Font:
The font on the digipak is actually different to the font in the video and this isn't intentional. This is only because I edited my video at home but created the digipak in school. Also, the font is the same on the poster.
